This battery is an exact replacement for the original batteries we had in our asus Notebook laptops. Replacing them took a bit of careful work with precision tools, but was do-able with reasonable care. The result was amazing. installed in asus laptop was fairly straightforward, and at first the battery seemed to be working great. I am using Ubuntu 23.10, and battery statistics showed the correct watt hour capacity, and battery charged to that value. Ran several discharge/charge cycles and all seemed well... but after a couple of weeks, I noticed that the reported capacity after a recharge started to drop, and after one month, its down 10 watt hours from the original value. Last week, I charged the battery to 100%, shut it down and put away... today I take it out and power it up... initially it shows battery at 96% which is ok... I use the laptop for about 20 minutes and then suddenly the battery drops to critical 5% and laptop wants to shutdown. I plug in the charger, and now the reported capacity is only about half what it's supposed to be. I should have send it back for replacement/refund while it was still in the 30 day window, but it's such a pain to take the laptop apart I let it slide... oh well... what a waste of money.UPDATE. Several days after posting this review I was contacted by the seller who offered a refund on the battery. I accepted and am going to order another one. Hopefully I just received a bad one. Will pay closer attention to this next battery before the 30 day return window expires.

The directions assume you have some tech knowledge, which I don’t, so I found a video for my asus model and it was fairly easy. The magnetized screw drivers are perfect for holding onto those teeny screws and what I thought was a guitar pick is actually to help loosen the case. My battery came 75% charged and installation was something I wished I’d done months ago.

Like most people purchasing this battery, my primary instruction method was a Youtube video. The battery itself did exactly the job I asked of it- it made the laptop function away from a wall again, but post installation there was a slight bulge in the housing as a result. While this is likely not the fault of this manufacturer, and there are definitely laptop designs that are not intended to be easily opened by the consumer, it would be most appreciated by them to have official documentation or walkthroughs available. This would not only make it more likely for people to be repeat customers, but they would have a more polished interaction with the product.
